Throughout the month of April, officers with the Baroda-Lake Township Police Department are showing their support for those affected by autism by wearing special patches on their uniforms.
Chief Wes Koza says this is Autism Awareness Month, and the department hopes its colorful patches will spark conversations, foster understanding, and help create a more inclusive environment for everyone.
If you see a Baroda-Lake Township officer sporting one of the patches, Koza says feel free to ask them about it because they’re always happy to talk about the importance of autism awareness.
also thanked the community for its support.
