Heavy rain in Southwest Michigan this weekend has disrupted rail travel after floodwaters damaged a section of track, forcing Amtrak to suspend part of its service.

The company has announced that the Pere Marquette train, which runs between Grand Rapids and Chicago, would not operate on Sunday, April 5. Instead, passengers are being transported by bus along the route.

Images circulating on social media show damage to the CSX Railroad tracks in Coloma.
