A stretch of M-43 at County Road 665 in Van Buren County was closed for several hours Sunday afternoon following a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a truck, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities initially shut down the roadway around 4 pm in both eastbound and westbound directions to allow emergency crews to respond, investigate and safely clear the scene. Motorists were urged to avoid the area and find alternate routes during the closure.
The sheriff’s office later confirmed the roadway has been reopened to all traffic, reminding drivers to stay alert for motorcycles on the road as warmer weather approaches. The sheriff’s office said both drivers and riders should use caution, remain aware of their surroundings and share the road responsibly.
