A new survey from AAA shows more Americans are heading to national parks for their vacations. AAA of Michigan’s Gary Bubar says unrest in other countries has been keeping Americans at home. So, when they travel, it’s to a domestic attraction.

“A number of folks who would be going overseas have been shying away from that a little bit because of some of the things going on in Europe and around the world, and also we’ve got low gas prices,” Bubar told WSJM.

Vacations to national parks reached an all-time high in 2015, with a total of 307 million visitors, according to AAA. The most popular attraction, by far, is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, followed by the Grand Canyon, the Rocky Mountains, Yosemite, and Yellowstone. Bubar expects the trend to continue, as long as gas prices don’t rise much.
