Disney Have Patent For Foot Scanner That Could Track Your Movements Through The Park

Disney received a patent in July for a machine that would take pictures of visitors’ feet at its theme parks.

Cameras would scan guest’s shoes when they enter the park then track them as the move about. It would be able to tell them a person’s shoe size, color, and even whether they have gum on the bottom of their shoes. Disney would track guests’ favorite rides and paths through the park. It could also allow them to have Mickey Mouse greet guests by name or get souvenir photos or videos to them more quickly. 

The company says it has no plans to actually use its foot camera patent at this point.
