Household income for the middle class has surged. Michigan New Network Business Editor Murray Feldman says the typical American household should feel like they have more money in their pockets.

“Median household income jumped 5.2% last year,” Feldman said. “That’s higher than the inflation rate.”

Feldman says it could be why auto sales have reached record levels. The median income has jumped $2,800 dollars to $56,500. That’s the first positive move in eight years.
