This Saturday will bring another Bissell Pet Foundation Empty the Shelter event. That’s when the Grand Rapids-based Bissell will pay the adoption fees for animals at shelters all over the state. Taking part is the Cass County Animal Shelter in Cassopolis. Director Ron Butts tells WSJM News they’ve got lots of critters who need homes.
“We have a full house,” Butts said. “So, we’re going to have available for the event…we should be looking at 50 cats and dogs here available.”
If you stop at the Cass County shelter on Saturday, you can take your pick of dogs and cats without having to pay the $30 fee. Bissell is also giving out leashes and collars. Butts tells us previous Empty the Shelter days have been very well attended. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The Al-Van Humane Society in South Haven is also taking part.
