Michigan lawmakers will have several time-sensitive issues to address when they are back in session this new year. Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley identified spoke with Michigan News Network about 2018 and identified two priorities.

“There’s a skilled trades package that is moving through the process, and seems to have a lot of support on both sides of the aisle, and we’re going to have to make some changes in our tax code as well,” Calley said.

Calley said Lansing lawmakers need to ensure Michigan residents are still able to claim personal deductions on the state level. That’s so they don’t experience any increase in state taxes.
