Proos Praises Catholic Schools

State Senator John Proos this week took a moment on the Senate floor to celebrate the impact Catholic schools have on thousands of students in Michigan. Proos said there are more than 52,000 Michigan students attending 222 Catholic schools in the state.

“Catholic schools instill a broad, values-based education, emphasizing lifelong development of moral, intellectual, and social values in our young people, making them responsible citizens in our state and in our nation,” Proos said.

Proos also noted many students at Catholic schools are economically disadvantaged. Proos also introduced a resolution declaring January 28 through February 3 as Catholic Schools Week. You can see Proos’ full comments below.
