The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan will benefit from a fundraiser this weekend. Director Jill Svoboda tells us they’re not the ones putting it on at Lakeside Family Church on Red Arrow Highway in Stevensville, but they’re very appreciative of the effort.
“Great Lakes Modern Mopar will have a small car show with live music from Ask Me Friday, and they’re hoping to have people donate for the good music and the good things out there for the homeless animals,” Svoboda tells us.
From noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, there will be live music, food, games and more to benefit the organization. Along with music, food and games, there will be a raffle for a new Whirlpool dishwasher. Svoboda says they’re always in need of donations, as there are just eight paid employees. The Humane Society recently opened up a brand new shelter in Royalton Township, giving them much more room to care for pets awaiting adoption.
