The Kent County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what has the looks of a triple-murder-suicide that has left 3 young children and an adult woman dead in a home near Cedar Springs in northern Kent County. Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young says it’s believed the children were killed somewhere else and then taken to a home on 19 Mile Road, where the woman took her own life.

“Very, very sad. It’s always hard when there’s deaths in the community, but it’s absolutely the most difficult when there are kids involved,” the sheriff told reporters.

Tri-County Schools officials have confirmed two of the victims were sisters, eight-year-old Kyrie and six-year-old Cassidy Rodery, who were students in the district. Their two-year-old sister, Alaina Moore, is also reported to have been killed. LaJoye-Young says investigators believe the girls’ 28-year-old mother killed them at a separate location and then killed herself where the bodies were found on Monday. While police have not released her name, family members tell WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids she was Aubrienne Moore.
