Set for Saturday is the annual Lake Michigan College Winner’s Circle Benefit Auction. Lake Michigan College Foundation Director Mary Klemm tells WSJM News the event has been held each year since 1988.
“It is a fundraiser primarily for scholarships for students, and so we have a live auction with our big high-end items, a silent auction of about 250 items, and all of the proceeds go toward funding scholarships,” Klemm said.
Klemm says the auction raises around $100,000 each year thanks to items donated by businesses and others.
“It’s really hundreds of organizations and individuals within the region who support this event,” Klemm said.
There’s an online part of the auction and the physical event Saturday. Items up for grabs include tickets to see the Rolling Stones, Chicago Cubs tickets, restaurant certificates, and appliances. You can see the items up for grabs right here.
