Round two of state Senator Kim LaSata’s Southwest Michigan Spirit Tournament has begun. LaSata is keeping alive the tradition started by her predecessor to have schools compete to show who has the most pride by submitting photos to her Facebook page. The bracket-style competition takes place alongside the March Madness basketball action. This year’s Southwest Michigan Spirit Tournament started last week, and now advancing on to round two are 16 districts including Niles, Bridgman, Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, and Berrien Springs. Also still in is last year’s winner, Coloma. Anyone looking for more information on the tournament can check out LaSata’s Facebook page.
