There will be a town hall meeting on road funding in the state on Monday. State Representative Brad Paquette is hosting the forum at the Niles District Library on East Main Street from 6 to 7 p.m. He will be joined by Representative Jack O’Malley, who is the chairman of the House Transportation Committee along with Senate Transportation Committee vice chairwoman Kim LaSata.

Paquette says lawmakers are getting closer to a “comprehensive plan” to fix the roads with a focus on responsible investment and innovation. While several different options are on the table in Lansing, no lawmakers have put forth a bill which would enact the 45¢ per gallon gas tax hike being called for by Governor Whitmer.
