Injuries from a crash on Wednesday in Van Buren County have claimed the life of a 60-year-old Lawton man. The sheriff’s department says he was not wearing a seat belt when a Paw Paw woman ran a stop sign at the intersection of 64th Avenue and 30th Street in Antwerp Township and hit his SUV, causing it to flip. His passenger was not hurt. The driver who hit his vehicle spun into a tree, but she was buckled in and deputies did not say if she was hurt. The man died yesterday at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Police are still investigating the crash.
