Michigan Senate Holds Moment Of Silence For Kevin White

The Michigan Senate held a moment of silence on Tuesday for Kevin White, the supervisor of Benton Township who was killed while working along I-94 for the Michigan Department of Transportation last week. State Senator Kim LaSata spoke about the incident.

“Often what is lost when we are talking about fixing our roads is the people who actually fix our roads,” LaSata said. “Despite the inherent risks, they go to work each day, putting in long and hard hours to fix and maintain our transportation system.”

White was killed when he was hit by a tire that came off a truck. LaSata told her colleagues we often forget of the risks faced by workers like White. He was a 9-year employee of MDOT out of the Coloma garage.
