The Inn at Harbor Shores is one of two hotels to earn AAA of Michigan’s Four Diamond Designation this year. There are now 19 such hotels in the state. Along with the St. Joseph hotel, Detroit’s Shinola Hotel has been added to the list. The awards were presented today (Wednesday) in Grand Rapids during the Pure Michigan Governors Conference on Tourism. According to the auto club, a Four Diamond hotel is “refined and stylish, providing upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.”
AAA unveiled what it calls a “contemporized” version of the AAA Diamond Program in January, and new designations reflect professional inspector reviews that use updated guidelines that the club says sets their program apart from services relying on unverified hotel and restaurant ratings.
