A body found in Lake Michigan late Thursday at Holland State Park is that of missing 16-year-old Eliza Trainer of Flushing. The Flint-area teen had been missing since being swept off the pier around 11:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day while visiting the lake with a friend for the first time. Trainer’s body was identified through an autopsy Friday in Grand Rapids. Her 19-year-old friend survived and tried to pull her on shore after he was able to get to some rocks, but another wave hit and pulled her away from him. Trainer’s body was found wedged in rocks along the side of the pier.
