Confirmed cases of COVID-19 are in southwest Michigan for the first time, with two cases in Berrien County that resulted from close contact with singer Sandi Patty during a March 8 concert at Andrews University in Berrien Springs. She announced on March 17 that she had tested positive, but that was not done in the state of Michigan.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says in its daily update on Saturday that the number of cases statewide are now up to 787, with five deaths. The numbers are updated every afternoon.
