Cook Plant Unit 2 Removed From Service For Repairs

The Cook nuclear power plant’s Unit 2 has been taken offline so crews can do some repairs. The Cook plant has released the following statement:

At 10:59 a.m. on Friday, May 1, Operators safely removed Indiana Michigan Power’s Cook Nuclear Plant Unit 2 reactor from service as a result of a small leak discovered on a pipe feeding one of the unit’s pressurizer spray valves. Cook’s Unit 1 remains at 100% power. Cook’s Unit 2 will remain offline until the leak repair has been safely and successfully completed. A return to service date is not provided for competitive reasons.
