St. Patrick’s Day is Sunday, and the festivities falling on a weekend makes things extra complicated for police.
Michigan State Police First Lieutenant Mike Shaw says those of us drinking need to use a designated driver, or call an Uber.
“We’re just hopeful that everybody goes out and has a good time, those that celebrate St. Patty’s Day that way, if that’s your thing,” Shaw said. “However, like we talk about every day, because we have seen these increases in our impaired driving statistics across the state, and probably we’ll see one this year when those stats come out. Use a designated driver.”
Shaw says extra patrols will be on the roads all day, cracking down on drunk drivers.
