A new director has been appointed for the Cass District Library.

The library  says Christopher Korenowsky will take over as director on August 18, replacing Barbara Gordon, who departed in June after more than six years of service.

Korenowsky has more than 20 years of experience in library leadership, having most recently served as chief of operations at the Detroit Public Library, where he helped secure the organization’s financial future. He says he’s delighted to join the Cass District Library, noting the wide range of services it offers.

Korenowsky also expressed enthusiasm for the Edwardsburg Branch build project, which is expected to be finished by the end of the year, providing the residents of Edwardsburg an expanded location with new technology.

The Cass District Library serves several townships in Cass County with branches in Cassopolis, Edwardsburg, Howard, and Union.
