Neil Young is sharing details on some of the archival projects he promised to release in 2020 via a New Year’s Day letter to his fans. The singer/songwriter plans to release Way Down In The Rust Bucket and Greendale Live this year. The latter 2003 performance with his band Crazy Horse will include a live album and a theatre releas. Not much information was released regarding Way Down In The Rust Bucket. News of the performance was first shared in September.
The releases are a part of an effort that Young has been working on for years. In 1991, the singer/songwriter told Rolling Stone he wanted to release “18 to 20 albums’ worth of unreleased material.” Young said in his 2020 note, “the pieces are a labor of love.”
